One of the most outstanding characteristics of the Moon is it’s adaptability. The Moon represents the mind and the heart and the connection between the two.
If you find that you have a hard time with change in your home, relationships, work, or your body (aging!), the Moon in your birth chart may be hampered in some way in it’s ability to adapt to change.
Often the Moon in the sign of Scorpio, the Moon in Capricorn, or the Moon with Saturn or Mars can have this problem.
The Moon in Scorpio is very sensitive and acutely aware of it’s vulnerabilities so change can feel threatening, and the Moon with Saturn, aspected by, or ruled by Saturn (Capricorn), can feel all of it’s fears being stirred up when change comes along.
Mars with the Moon is often angry that the world doesn’t live up to his ideal of the way things should and shouldn’t be, and therefore has little to no mental peace, and Rahu or Ketu with the Moon is a whole separate blog post.
All the signs of the Moon can have some trouble adapting to changes, it really depends on the influences on the Moon in your birth chart. If you grew up in hard circumstances and experienced a lot of loneliness, abuse, or neglect, then you can be a bit too adaptable when you find yourself in similar circumstances as an adult, meaning you stay too long in an unsupportive environment and put up with way too much bad treatment.
Furthermore, you may find that you are almost always in some kind of difficult situation because that is what you are used to! The Moon is the part of us that is conditioned by our early environment, and by the disempowering thinking habits we have picked up over time. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
Today’s Moon in Pisces is waxing (getting brighter), in a fertile water sign, and is therefore the best time to plant seeds in the soil of your unconscious mind. Water is about going with the flow of life and surrendering to what IS. It’s the last sign of the zodiac and is “footless” because it’s symbolized by two fishes, representing where we let go of the egoic self that insists on making life conform to it’s own ideas.
Here are some affirmations for the Moon if you have trouble surrendering to the flow of life, letting go of anything that is out of your control, or if you are living in a situation that is not good for you:
“I allow the flow to take me where I need to go.”
You can make up your own affirmations tailored to your specific situation or tendencies. Make the affirmation in the present tense and make it believable. Say it to yourself several times a day. Write it out several times a day if you want your unconscious mind to get the message faster.
When you write your affirmation, also write down the objections or contradictions your mind immediately comes up with, and then argue with them, don’t automatically accept what you think as being true. The bigger the gap between where you are and where you want to be, the more your mind will object to your affirmation.
and in love
your capacity to receive even more of the good that life has to offer.
